  1. So tell me about these files you gave me.

    Sure! Here’s the deal:

Primary Logo

This design is the primary, major, big deal logo used on stationery, printed materials, large formats, digital, whatever you need. It’s the main identifier of you. She’s a good one, telling all the info you wanted to put out in one detailed visual.

Secondary Logo

This one is an alternate to your primary. It can be more horizontal which works better for say websites or letterheads. If you want something that is a different orientation than Bessie up there at Primary, you can download this one. The other differentiator here is we’ll have multiple brand colors involved. Of course we can do the same for primary if you want.

2. What tangible things can I have with my brand?

Introducing your business to a customer is very important. Any sort of print or promotional product will be a big plus for your company. The prints you leave with them should look great and be something you're proud of. Brochures, Booklets, Posters, Flyers, Buttons, Stickers, Magnets, Door Hangers, Envelope, Letterhead, Gift Certificates, Pins, Cups, T-shirts, Invitations, Menus, Letters…

3. What are Brand Guidelines?

Instead of only having a logo, successful organizations invest in brand guidelines. These help defend the integrity of the brand as a whole. Brand Guidelines define each touchpoint. A touchpoint is any point of contact between a buyer and a seller) Think of the guideline as the brand's bible, a design system that reinforces rules for each asset of the organization, promoting the immersive brand experience to all senses.

Brand Identity

Also included in this section is the logo identity. It needs to be defended from any manipulation not found in the Guide. There will be a few different alternatives for the logo, but only those defined are to be used. Each alternative design has been created for different environments (vertical/horizontal lockup, light/dark, micro/macro) so there is no need to stretch, recolor or redefine in any way.

Personality/Voice, Positioning, Messaging, and Audience

Who are you? What’s the company’s vision? Why are you in the market? Why are you better than anyone else?

A brand story is the first introduction to your audience -- more of an abstract feel than specifically spelled-out. The brand's voice is used in social media posts and any copywriting in marketing collateral.

Typography

With no consistent font choices, an organization can look very unorganized. A thoughtful type system allows the brand to look cohesive.

Color Palette

A similarly visual color palette ties everything together.
